Our Practitioners and Fitness Instructors are dedicated to helping survivors become THRIVERS.  They have completed a rigorous approval process and are committed to providing the highest level of services to our participants.

Lee Artur | Pilates Instructor

Lee Artur has been teaching fitness for over 30 years. In 1984 and in 1990, Lee partnered with the Center Clubs, as their fitness and Aerobic Director. She was instrumental in establishing one of the best fitness, aerobic and spinning programs in the area. She then opened the Exercise Studio in Doylestown, Pa. Lee is now the owner of the Pilates Center in Lambertville NJ, established in 2001. She is certified in Pilates as a Master Pilates Instructor and Somatic Movement Practitioner. She continues to train and study somatic movement education as well as many other movement modalities, which create a unique and interesting teaching style. Sue Baughman | Registered Psychologist, IYS Therapist

Sue Baughman is a registered psychologist, who grew up in Pennsylvania, but has been living and working in Australia since 1986. Sue has been providing psychological counseling services and Emotional Health & Wellness Group Programs for the past 12 years. Sue is also an accredited teacher with Satyananda Yoga and has been a yoga and mindfulness based practitioner for over 25 years. Recently Sue received accreditation as an IYS therapist which is a non-touch energy healing modality. Sue co-facilitates holistic, psychosocial retreats for people living with cancer, for carergivers, allied health professionals, Aboriginal women, and people living with depression, anxiety, and stress.

Frank Champine | Meditative Brush Painting Instructor

Frank Champine worked as a social studies teacher for 35years, as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania for 4 years and as an educational consultant for 12 years.

In 2003, Frank was diagnosed with breast cancer and met Beth DuPree, MD. During his treatment, he began to study Chinese brush painting. This new experience led Frank to be invited to share his paintings within Dr. DuPree’s book, The Healing Consciousness: A Doctor’s Journey to Healing. In 2013, his work appeared in the book, Placemat Prayers, Mealtime Blessings Especially for the Sick which he co-authored with two colleagues.

Edye Discount | Pilates Instructor

Edye Discount has been a pilates instructor for over a decade. She offers customized reformer, mat, and chair Pilates while working with Dr. Grozalis, a Bucks County chiropractor. She has instructed classes in geriatric Pilates, in patients with Multiple Sclerosis, and for cancer patients through HCF. Mary Lou Gilmour | Integrated Energy Therapist, Reiki Master

Mary Lou Gilmour is a certified Reiki Master, Integrated Energy Therapist, Theta, and Reconnective Healer. She uses her gift to restore balance with physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Her comprehensive healing approach serves the HCF where she often works with breast cancer patients to recover and release fear and tension. Dr. Pamela Ginsberg | Psychologist

Dr. Pamela J. Ginsberg is a Psychologist specializing in women’s issues. She works with women with cancer and other health challenges, life balance, grief and bereavement, stress management, decision-making, parenting, and relationship issues. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Ginsberg helps women take control of their lives by making clear decisions, making and implementing action plans, and taking responsibility for their life decisions.

As a practical, interactive, solution-focused Psychologist, her treatment approach is to provide support with insight and direct feedback to help clients address current challenges and long-standing issues. With sensitivity and compassion, she helps individuals bring resolution to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues. Donna Greenberg | Acupuncture

Donna Greenberg has been practicing acupuncture for 18 years and is nationally board-certified and licensed in Pennsylvania. She received her Master’s Degree in acupuncture from Westbrook University. She focuses on helping patients achieve balance, harmony, and good health in their body, mind, and spirit. Vaughn Hebron

Vaughn Hebron is currently CEO/President of VMS Movement Specialists, a Fitness Center and Personal training Studio located in Newtown, Pennsylvania. He is a world class athlete and two-time NFL Super bowl Champion. He was recently an analyst for Eagles Post Game Live on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia which airs after every Philadelphia Eagles game. Vaughn leads the VMS Thrivers Workout.

Karen Jayne | Life Coach

Karen Jayne is a certified professional life coach and author of 3 Pillows Down. She is accredited through the International Coaching Federation and supports people in transition or who have feel stuck and are ready to move forward. She helps her clients gain clarity on what they want for themselves and supports them in attaining their desires. Karen specializes in relationships, intimacy, and sexual energy. Joan McDevitt | Yoga Instructor, Reiki Practitioner

Joan McDevitt is a licensed pharmacist and a registered yoga therapist, certified Reiki practitioner and aroma therapist. She is a graduate of Donna Karan’s groundbreaking Urban Zen Integrative Therapist Program. As a breast cancer survivor, she knows how essential and beneficial the inclusion of eastern healing is on the treatment of serious illnesses and conditions. A longtime Bucks County resident, Joan is married and the mother of two teenage children.

Shanti Mission | IYS Therapists

The team of Shanti Mission IYS Therapists are able to perceive and release stuck energy. They clear unhealthy thoughts and blockages held deep within the body & energy field. All IYS Therapists have been licensed by Shanti Mission Founder and Creator of IYS Therapy, Shakti Durga. She is the founder and spiritual leader of Shanti Mission and is the creator of Ignite Your Spirit Therapy. Sherri Jacquelyn Robinson | Zumba Instructor

Sherri is a Basic Steps Level 2 Official Zumba Instructor and has been a dedicated fitness instructor for many years. She shares her passion for fitness and dance by leading the weekly Group Zumba Fitness class for HCF. Learn more at her website.

Brenda Sonnie | Massage Therapist

Brenda J Sonnie is a Board Certified Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master.  Certified in Mastectomy Massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage techniques.  She specializes in treatments to improve the healing process after breast surgeries, creating personalized sessions to increase range of motion, reduce scar tissue and balance to the lymphatic system.  Brenda was motivated to start her company Energy to Heal, after supporting her husband for 20 years through illness.  She has been a holistic healthcare professional in a hospital setting since 2005.   While walking the journey alongside of her mother diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, Brenda became inspired to become a part of the healing team of The Healing Consciousness Foundation assisting with the physical and emotional aspects of each of her patients who have been touched by cancer.

After raising three stepdaughters and a son, Brenda enjoys decorative painting, traveling and fishing. She currently lives in Bucks County with her dogs.

Deb Soufleris

Deb has 20 years of experience within the nutrition and food safety industries, working in research organizations, corporations, and as a private consultant. In addition to working with Dr. Beth Dupree, Deb is currently a consultant for EcoSure specializing in Food Safety. Deb has held a number of other positions, including: consulting for the American Diabetes Association and working as a corporate dietitian and consultant for MultiCare Corporation, a long-term care provider.

Deb began her career at Bowman-Gray Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC and Highpoint Regional Hospital in Highpoint, NC where she worked as a research assistant and an acute care dietitian. She graduated with a BS in Dietetics and Nutrition from Immaculata University and obtained her Registered Dietitian certification in 1993. She and her husband, Pete, live with their three active children in Bucks County, PA.

 

Kathy Stahl | Massage Therapist

Kathy Stahl is a licensed massage therapist with experience in Swedish, deep tissue, and Thai massage. She incorporates many of these skills into her massages along with various energy techniques so each client receives exactly what they need at the time. By combining massage and breath work, Kathy is able to bring her patients to a more relaxed, peaceful state to create lasting changes along with healing. Learn more at her website.

Donna Sullivan | Massage Therapist

Donna Sullivan has been an active member of the holistic healing community since the 1980s. She is trained in mastectomy massage, and lymphatic drain massage and can help clients through massage, breathing techniques, guided imagery, and energy work. She has trained at the Center for Mind Body Medicine in Washington D.C. and has been using this training in her “prepare for surgery” sessions for HCF.

Doris Szeto | Yoga Instructor

Doris Szeto began practicing yoga over 14 years ago. She completed her Vinyasa Teacher Training and her Yoga Therapy Certification for Women Cancer Survivors at Cyndi Lee’s OM Yoga in New York City. Since moving to Bucks County, PA, she has enjoyed sharing her love of yoga with her students. Her classes encourage a sense of curiosity & playfulness, blending a juicy flow of asanas informed by precise attention to alignment, breath awareness, & Buddhist mindfulness. Rachel Williams | Personal Trainer

Rachel Williams is certified through the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer and lifestyle and weight management consultant. She has been training clients for 15 years to become stronger and to make healthier nutrition choices. She offers a comprehensive lifestyle modification and weight management program which helps in making nutritional decisions to fuel your mind, body, and spirit and make food your medicine.
